SWANSEA WEST PROJECTS TO GET £142,000 FUNDING BOOST
Sketty Methodist Church and St Barnabas Church in Swansea West are set to benefit from a major £142,000 funding boost, thanks to a popular grant scheme from the Labour-led Welsh Assembly Government.
Swansea Labour AM Andrew Davies has welcomed the news as a shot in the arm to community life and the local economy.
The Community Facilities and Activities Programme funding will refurbish the two churches at just over £142,000. Sketty Methodist Church will receive £100,462 for disabled services and kitchen access while St Barnabas will receive £42,189 for a new roof to improve energy efficiency.
Andrew Davies said:
"This is great news and I'm delighted that the churches have been successful in their application for this funding. It will help them to carry on their good work in our communities."
"The programme is not just about buildings. It's about people, regenerating our towns, Cities and villages and restoring a sense of community spirit."
