Award to the Cyrenians Community Centre

The Owl and parrot cafe and 9 carrots food Coop run by Cyrenians Community Centre have won an ‘Awards for Food Action Locally’ (AFAL) award as part of the Food Standards Agency Wales’ 2008 Award Scheme.

The scheme, launched in November 2003, recognises individuals or team contributions to local nutrition initiatives that have made a positive impact on the diet or eating habits in the communities they serve.

A presentation of the AFAL award will take place on Friday 14th March
Andrew Davies AM for Swansea West said:

" The Owl and Parrot Cafe and 9 carrots food Shop is and excellent positive facility for the community. I am delighted that the Cyrenians Community centre has been recognised for its achievements in supporting the homeless in Swansea.
