AMs Join Leisure Centre Fee Debate
.
A Pair of Swansea AMs have entered the row over the cost of city's new leisure centre.Andrew Davies, AM for Swansea West, and Val Lloyd, AM for Swansea East, have called for fairness from Swansea Council after it was announced that swimming at the new Leisure centre would cost £7.
In a joint statement the Labour AMs said: "That price is very steep indeed and many of our constituents will be unable to afford it, so we would ask the Lib-Dem council to look again at their entrance fees for swimming, in light of them failing to offer the free swimming initiative for OAPs and children.
"Swansea Council has shown once again that the devil is in the detail and that the new swimming pool is a costly couple of hours out for a family."
They added: "This, of course, does not take into account the costs of parking or indeed the cost of any of the other new facilities available."
