Residents Step Up Road Safety Battle
Residents of a busy Swansea street have signed a petition to try to make their road safer.Around 100 people living in Downleaze, Haulwen Road, Waunarlwydd Road and Cockett Road put their names to the document.
They want Swansea Council to install a mini roundabout at the junction of Cockett Road and Waunarlwydd Road.
They gave their petition to Swansea AM Andrew Davies outside the Cockett Inn before he visited Cockett Road.
Campaigner Ann Pennock said: "It's a very dangerous spot. There have been so many near-misses, both with cars and pedestrians."
The campaigners say the problems are caused by lack of visibility at the junction.
They want the council to take action to resolve the issue.
Ann Pennock said: "I can't see why the council can't put the people of Swansea first for a change and do road works where we need them, rather than just getting the roads ready for the bendy buses."
